PARROT PANDEMONIUM
ALL THINGS PARROTS
SCROLL DOWN TO MEET OUR FLOCK
(This site is a work in progress but I want to have it published as I go)
At Parrot Pandemonium, our mission is to provide accurate information and stories about our feathered friends. There is too much misinformation out there that it is hard to trust what you read. Through our extensive research and experience we will help find the truth!
For someone who never wanted a pet, that wasn't in a tank, I could not believe how I fell in love with a Conure. Two years later and we own eight parrots and it has become a pandemonium of people and parrots.
At Parrot Pandemonium, we have a deep love and passion for all birds. We are dedicated to creating a positive impact in the parrot world and making a difference in the lives of pets and their owners.
We are running out of room with all the birds we have rescued and purchased but I don't want to stop helping those that need a better quality of life and lots of love. Ultimately we want to have an aviary where all birds will be loved and have a forever home. I have seen too many people jump the gun and buy an animal they cannot adequately be cared for. Who knows maybe we will build a zoo!!!
Any and all donations go directly to parrot rescue and better quality of life.

All birds can use their feet to eat but only Parrots can hold their food to their mouth with their feet. Their feet are a lot like humans hands. Eating and cracking the shells of nuts can be quite difficult, thankfully Parrots have strong beaks to help them. It is estimated that large Macaw's have a bite force of 500 to 700 pounds per square inch, this is very similar to that of a large dog!!!!!
In general, the smaller the bird, the shorter its lifespan. The smaller parrots, like budgies, parakeets, and cockatiels, generally only live 8–15 years, while the larger birds, like macaws and grey parrots, can live 25–50 years. The oldest documented bird, per Guinness book of world records, is Poncho, 92, a green-winged macaw.
The African grey parrot is the number one most intelligent talking parrots. They can learn up to 1,000 words or more and are considered to have the intelligence of a 2–3-year-old toddler. The top five parrots that can mimic human speech are: The African Gray, Budgerigar(Budgie), Amazon parrot, Indian Ringneck and the Quaker.
Humans love to dance but parrots love it too!! Parrots are the only other animal in the world that truly loves dancing. Studies have shown that parrots can be picky about the music they enjoy. Some seem to prefer calm and complex classical music, some prefer pop, while others appreciate louder, more boisterous jingles. But it was determined that most, if not all, of the birds disliked the popular electronic dance music.
Parrots, also known as psittacines, are the 402 species of birds that make up the order Psittaciformes, most are found in tropical and subtropical regions, of which 387 are still in exitance. The Spix's macaw is one of the rarest birds in the world: it is estimated that in the year 2000 there are only 177 captive individuals in the world. The species was declared extinct in the wild. However, after over 20 years of conservation efforts, 200 macaws have been bred from just two parent birds, and 52 individual birds have since been reintroduced into their natural environment in June 2022.
The term pandemonium translates to “wild and noisy,” making it a suitable name for a group of parrots. Groups of parrots are often chaotic, noisy, and manic, especially when they’re young. A group of parrots may also be referred to as a flock, which is a more conventional term. They may also be called a company, which refers to a colorful group of parrots that resemble a military parade.
